The Walking Dead Spin-Off Show Casts its First Three Leading
AMC’s upcoming The Walking Dead spin-off has cast its first three actors. Alexa Mansour (Unfriended: The Dark Web), Nicolas Cantu (The Amazing World of Gumball), and Hal Cumpston (of the Australian comedy Bilched) are set to play the leading roles, according to Deadline.

The Walking Dead: Season 3 universe, which the company announced last April. According to AMC. the series will focus on two young female protagonists and “focus on the first-generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad."Mansour is most known for her brief, but punctuated role in Unfriended: Dark Web, as Erica, a victim of the dark net hacker collective that hunts down the cast of the film. She also recently finished a guest starring role on CBS’s Madam Secretary. Cantu voices the titular Gumball Watterson on Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball. Cumpston rounds things out as the least known of the trio, having only appeared in Bilched, an Australian coming-of-age comedy.The new series will consist of 10 episodes and will be filmed in Virginia. Walking Dead writer Matt Negrete will serve as showrunner, and co-created the series alongside Scott Gimple, chief content officer of the Walking Dead universe.The new spin-off joins the original Walking Dead show, which is entering its 10th season this October.
