Mario Kart Tour Release Date Announced
Mario Kart Tour will be released on iOS and Android devices on September 25, 2019.Pre-orders are now live on iOS, and the game's page gives further details as to what Mario Kart fans can expect when they play Nintendo's beloved racing franchise on mobile devices.
Mario and friends will be racing around "courses inspired by real-world cities in addition to classic Mario Kart courses," which will rotate every two weeks. Some characters will even have outfits that match the "local flavor of cities featured in the game!"Mario Kart Tour is meant to be played "with just one finger," and it will allow you to steer, drift, use items, and more. There will also be a new Frenzy mode that "gives an unlimited supply of a certain item and makes you invincible," although only for a short time.Mario Kart Tour will be free-to-start, and will incorporate in-game purchases, but players can earn Grand Stars by racing or "fire off the featured pipe to receive more drivers, karts, and gliders." Players can also earn badges for completing challenges that can be displayed alongside their name.There will be Bonus challenge courses which have goals that aren't as simple as placing in 1st, including "Vs. Mega Bowser" and "Goomba Takedown." There will also be online play and leaderboards to see who the best racers in the world are.Nintendo announced Mario Kart Tour back in 2018 and a closed beta test on Android gave fans their first real look at this new racing title.Mario Kart Tour will be the next mobile game released by Nintendo following Dr. Mario World, in which we said it was a "fun, but flawed" take on the classic NES game.Have a tip for us?
